The brightest spark about this movie is the chemistry between Saif Ali Khan and Alaya Furniturewalla it just lifts up the movie and makes it all the way more bright and breezy! It’s an absolute non – judgemental , light hearted and fun watch. Saif Ali Khan brings great energy and charm to bear upon the role of Jaswinder “Jazz” Singh making the character so endearing. And his comic timing is spot on! Though this isn’t the first time we are watching him do a role like this but the difference this time is the age factor which is portrayed as it is in reality. Alaya Furniturewalla, in the role of Tia, is wonderfully well cast and does her bit with an effortless ease. Also, Tabu brings so much colour to her one-dimensional part . Kumud Mishra is as usual natural and genuinely beautiful. The non-judgmental way of storytelling is a masterstroke where even the flawed characters are not put under a moralistic scanner for their transgressions.
Nitin Kakkar’s film does a fine balancing act of keeping it fun and enjoyable while showing heart when needed. However, there is a subplot about housing redevelopment that is unnecessarily shoe-horned in the film. Perhaps the intention is to underline Jazz’s change of heart but it is one of the few things that feels forced in this largely likable drama.
